Now that the 2012 bridal season is in full swing, I have been spending most of my free time at the OffWhite Beauty Boutique doing hair and makeup trials. The hair and makeup trial is a great opportunity for me to spend 1 on 1 time with the client getting to know them and listening to all the details of there upcoming wedding.

As some of you may know, I religiously collect before and after photos of every person I work with, and I do this for a few different reasons. First off I like the client to be able to see the progression of what we have created during their makeup application. Secondly, I believe it is important for any makeup artist to document their work so that future clients can use the photos as a reference point when deciding what they want for their wedding day makeup. Lastly, I love nothing more than a photo that makes people "WOW" at how much of a difference a little bit of makeup can make on a woman appearance.

I have always believed that every woman is naturally beautiful, sometimes in ways that are not always obvious, but makeup is an accessory and should be used to highlight that which others do not easily notice.

On Annie's wedding day, Nicole and Amber traveled on location to the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland for a morning filled with lot's of makeup and hairstyling. Annie wanted her wedding hair and makeup to match her personal style. Her hair was styled half up-hald down with loose wavy curls and a soft sweaping bang.

For Annie's makeup, Nicole applied a light layer of airbrush foundation, and kept her cheeks a neutral peach color. On the eyes, Nicole used raisin brown in the crease, a soft taupe on the middle of the lid, and a white gold on the inner eye. The look was completed with a smokey black liner, false individual eyelashes, and a nude coral lip.

Ashley's wedding took place on location at Newcastle Golf and Country Club, and honestly that whole afternoon was one of the most beautiful days all summer long.

For Ashley's wedding makeup, she wanted something more than her everyday look, but it was also important to her and her fiancé Ryan that she still look like herself. On a dad to day basis Ashley doesn't wear much makeup, so for her wedding day we started with a light layer of airbrush foundation, just to even out the skin tone. For her eyes and cheeks we stayed very neutral and bronzy. The thin black eyeliner and false eyelash were the main focal point of Ashley's overall look. Finally, I tied it all together with a soft nude/pink lipstick.

As a personal friend of both Ashley and Ryan's, I can tell you that the wedding was so much fun, the food was great, the views were breathtaking, and I am so happy to have been a part of their special day. Thanks you Jen Repp for sharing these images!

On the day of Allison's wedding, Amber and myself traveled on location to the beautiful Alexis hotel in Seattle, for a morning of bridal beautification. All the ladies in Allison's bridal party were really funny and it was so relaxing working with them all. Each bridesmaid chose a different hairstyles, ranging from low side messy buns, to large Audrey Hepburn style bun on the top of the head, and an array of different braids. Each girl had their own style and Allison's let them show it off.

For Allison's wedding day hair and makeup, she chose a hairstyle that was all up. She wanted something formal enough to match her dress, but casual enough to match her style. For her makeup, she wanted flawless skin, light evening eye makeup, warm peachy lips, and big bold eyelashes.

For Sara's Sunday morning wedding, Amber and I went on location to the Edgewater to prepare her and the ladies in her bridal party with hair and makeup.

Sara wanted a simple half up half down style for her hair, with loose pieces hanging around her facial frame. The portion of her hair that I pulled up was used to create 2 soft braids that connected in the center.

For Sara's makeup I wanted to create something that would really make the blue in her eyes stand out. Sara has amazing blue eyes and in order to enhance them I used a lot of brown, melon, and bronze. I applied a layer of airbrush foundation to give her skin a flawless glow, and finished everything off with a peachy/pink lipstick.

On the day of Megan's wedding we met her and her bridal party on location at the Westin hotel in downtown Seattle. They had a huge open suite with lighting that was perfect for hair and makeup, and all of the ladies were in great spirits. When I first met Megan for her bridal trial, we discussed replicating the hair and makeup that Brooklyn Decker wore for her wedding. Seeing that Megan is about as tall as Brooklyn and equally as gorgeous, the look wasn't hard to re-create.

For Megan's bridal hairstyle, I lightly curled all of her hair by wrapping it around the curling iron. I wanted to give her a softer, beachy type of curl without it looking over styled. I ran some brilliant anti-humectant pomade from Aveda through her luscious locks, and then sprayed it down using a medium hold hairspray.

Megan's makeup application was a bit more in depth than he hair style. First we primed her skin with a pore minimizing primer and applied an even layer of airbrush foundation. On her cheeks I added Nars illuminator in the color "Orgasm" to give her cheek a bridal glow, and then went over it with a dewey baked powder bronzer. For Megan's eyes, I laid a shadow primer down and then a base neutral color. In the creases of her eyes I used a shade of charcoal purple and deep chestnut brown to create shadow. Then on the inside of the eye I applied a warm melon pigment shadow and soft cool pink to open things up and make them pop. I finished off the eyes by adding a sculpted black eyeliner, false individual lashes, and lots of Dior waterproof mascara. Megan tied her final look together with a pale pink lipstick that accentuated the green in her eyes.

On Abigail's wedding day, Blanca and I traveled on location to the private residence of her friend. It was an amazing condo building in Capitol Hill, with a sprawling view of the city. It was a cold rainy winter day but the bride was in great spirits and so were the ladies in her bridal party.

A few weeks before her wedding, Abby came in for a trial run. At that time we played around with colors and came up with a great look. On the day of her wedding we replicated most of that look, but at the last minute Abby caught a wild hair and decided to change out her simple semi-nude lip color, in exchange for a beautiful crimson red. I love when brides are spontaneous on there wedding day!

Abby's makeup look consist of: pore minimizing primer, makeup forever concealer, and a moderate layer of airbrush foundation. Her eyebrows were colored in with a soft chocolate brown powder, and a baked powder bronzer was applied to the cheeks. On her eyes, first an eyeshadow magnet was laid down as a base color, then a matte cream was placed over top. The crease was accentuated with a matte medium brown and soft rosy mauve color. The brow bone and inner eye were highlights with a white gold loose shimmer. The eyes were finished off with a black/brown powder liner on the top and false individual eyelashes. Lastly, a beautiful winter red lip liner was applied and then gone over with a semi matte red lipstick called "Ravishing".

3 days before Bria's wedding, she called OffWhite in a panic over the fact that her hair and makeup person had canceled on her that day. After a quick conversation and a few phone calls, we arranged for Bria to come in the day before her wedding for a bridal hair and makeup trial.

On the actual day of Bria's wedding, Elizabeth and I traveled on location to the Edgewater to provide a morning of beautification for the bride and her 4 bridesmaids.

For the brides hair style, she wanted something classic, all up, and inspired by Carrie Underwood. For Bria's makeup, she choose two different looks, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Both makeup applications began with a light coat of airbrush foundation and a medium bronzer on the cheeks. The first application of eye makeup consisted of light natural tones, champagnes, pinks, and gold. I finished off the eyes with false individual lashes and a stark black liquid liner. For Bria, the most important part of her afternoon look was a vibrant tomato red lip.

In the evening I came back on location for a second makeup application. At that time we darkened the creases of her eye with charcoal gray and intensified the eyeliner on the top and bottom. Finally we changed out the bright red lip for a soft nude pink and clear gloss.

At the end of September, Amber and I traveled on location to the Seattle Tennis Club so that we could prepare Hina and her bridal party member for the fabulous 2 part wedding she hosted at the Seattle Tennis Club. In the morning we gave Hina a look that complimented her traditional American ceremony in the afternoon. Then a few hours later we came back on location to change up her look so that it would match the traditional Indian portion of her reception.

On Courtney's wedding day, I traveled out to a private family residence in Arlington where the ceremony and reception took place. This was an extra special client for me, because not only was I hired to do her hair and makeup, but I also attended the wedding as a guest. The entire event was gorgeous and Courtney was such a sweet bride to work with.

For her hair, Courtney wanted something soft and to one side. She asked for low, soft sweeping bangs, and medium volume through out the top of her hair. The finishing touch was a small white flower, with netting attached to it that we clipped into the side.

Courtney wanted her makeup to be feminine, bright, and compliment all of the beautiful colors used in her bouquet. We began with a light coat of airbrush foundation and concealer around the under eye area. For her eyes, I used a combination of soft pastel pink, a shimmery melon, and light gold on the inner and middle eye. To darken her creases, I applied a matted chocolate brown and then lined the entire upper eye with a black/brown powder liner. Finally I applied false individual eyelashes to make her face pop, and tied everything together with a muted melon color lipstick and shimmery pink gloss over top.

On the day of Lisa's wedding, Megan and Elizabeth traveled on location to her home for a relaxing afternoon of hair and makeup preparations. Lisa, along with her 5 bridesmaids, all wanted hair and makeup looks that matched their individual style, while complimenting the colors used in the wedding.

For Lisa's bridal hair style, she choose something textured, soft and off to one side. When the style was finished, we added a beautiful vintage inspired hair piece to tie everything together.

For her makeup, we began with primer, and then a full coat of airbrush foundation to give her skin flawless total coverage. For her cheeks, Lisa choose a soft pink color that was applied along with a bronzer. On her eyes, we used soft champagnes on the inner eye, a medium mauve and pink color on the middle eye, and a graphite gray and honey brown on the inner crease. Lisa wanted her makeup to be more dramatic than how she wears it from day to day, while still looking like herself. We finished off the look with a soft watermelon colors gloss on the lips and beautiful false individual eyelashes.

Over the 4th of July weekend, Amber, Ursela, and myself had the pleasure of traveling on location to the New Castle Gold Club to prepare Dafne, her bridal part, and family members for a beautiful sunset wedding.

Dafne went with a soft and loose asymmetrical hairstyle. She wanted something low on her neck and a sweeping back to frame her face.

For her makeup, I applied a light layer of airbrush foundation and bronzing powder to her cheeks, nose, and collar bones. For her eyes we went dark and sultry, using deep purples, bronzes, and charcoal. We finished the look off with false eye lash extensions and a light coral lip.

We love our brides and it's always a huge honor to be a part of their weddings! We were so excited when beautiful bride Daphne asked for our help to create not one, but two bridal looks for her on her wedding day! On a dewy May morning, we met Daphne on location at her Seattle residence to beautify her for her morning wedding ceremony. She wanted to look just like herself, but with a bridal glow. Make-up artist Michelle lightly applied airbrush make-up as Daphne's fair complexion is near flawless. On her eyes, Michelle used purple hews to create a delicate contour on her lids. Her morning look was completed with a light coral pink lip gloss and soft brush.

To prepare for a fun night of partying, we returned to help Daphne create a sexier evening look. We met the bride on location this time at the Novelty Hill Winery. For Daphne, smokey eyes, bolder lips, and false individual lashes created her romantic evening look. From blushing bride to total babe!

We met Janessa on location at her wedding site at the beautiful Cotton Tree Inn in Mount Vernon where she and her bridesmaids were primping for the big day. For her late spring outdoor wedding, Janessa choose a light and natural bridal look that would glow in the spring sunshine. To create a nice palette we applied light airbrush make-up. On her eyes she opted for a light smokey eye that we created using shades of browns to match her natural tones. To polish off her look we applied a clear gloss over her pretty naturally tinted lips and lightly swept a pale pink brush on her cheeks.

We styled Janessa' bridal hair along with the ladies in her wedding party. The bride wore her hair partly pulled back and barrel curled, leaving much of her auburn curls loose and cascading among her shoulders. We specialized bridal looks for the bridesmaids to fit each of their individual styles.

On a brisk northwest spring day we met Diane on location at her home in Ballard, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Seattle, for a tranquil morning of pampering and beauty. That morning I styled Diane's hair and make-up for her mid-afternoon wedding.

The bride wanted a very classic make-up style. To start, we airbrushed on liquid make-up as a base and brightened up her cheeks with a warm rose to match her skin tone. With a fine tip brush, I applied a soft black liner on Diane's smiling eyes and swept on hints of blue shadow to contour. A soft glossy lip finished the look. For the bride's hair, I used a large barrel iron to curl Diane's hair. I then pinned it halfway up into a modern take on the 1960's bump style. Fresh flowers were secured on the bride's hair to polish off the look.

Caitlin M. Wedding: Married June 20, 2011

Beautiful bride Caitlin and her bridesmaids arrived at my boutique studio in the Greenlake neighborhood for a fun morning of beauty before their big day. We provided bridal hair and make-up styling for the bridal party. While we primped Caitlin and her bridesmaids, Caitlin's photographer Carly Bish snapped lots of lovely photos of my studio! Thanks Carly!

For her make-up, Caitlin wanted a pretty glowing fresh face with an emphasis on brightening up her eyes. To start, we airbrushed her face for a flawless look. On her eyes I swept a warm summery gold champagne shimmer and accented it with pink hews. I applied false individual lashes for more drama! Her lips are glossed with a pretty passion fruit tint, simple and trendy!

For her bridal updo, Caitlin wanted modern romance. Her hair was pulled back loosely and criss crossed in place. Her curls were softly pinned for optimum shine and texture. Her overall look was so beautiful and perfectly Caitlin!

For Penny's early spring wedding, I took a romantic ferry ride out on location to Whidbey Island. The April wedding was a picturesque Pacific Northwest affair coordinated by Fireseed Catering. I met Penny and her bridal party at a private residence where they were primping for the festivities.

Penny, a very natural beauty, doesn't like to wear much makeup or fuss over her hair. She chose to wear her hair down with loose curls and small sections pinned back. Her natural look was stunning against the Northwest greenery. For her makeup I did a very light coat of airbrush foundation, and applied a soft peach blush to her cheeks. On her eyes we used light creams, warm browns, a hints of copper pink. To brighten her eyes, we applied individual false lashes. A sheer peach gloss on the lips completed Penny's bridal look.

I met Megan and her bridesmaids on location at Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle for her modern city wedding. For this event, Off White provided make-up styling for the bride. Megan wanted a dramatic look with a strong smokey eye. I used shades of purple on her lids and black eyeliner to define the look. To open up her eyes we applied false individual lashes. To keep Megan's dramatic look well-balanced we kept the lips and blush soft with delicate shades of pink.

Megan also has tattoos on her chest on back that she wanted covered for her wedding day. We used a few coats of airbrush make-up to cover her tattoos, and it works quite well. Megan was pleased to appear to have tattoo-free shoulders for her beautiful strapless wedding gown.

The morning of Diana's wedding, Amber and myself traveled to the beautiful Woodmark Hotel along the waterfront in Kirkland. For this occasion we provided bridal makeup as well as hair and airbrush makeup for the bridal party and mother of the bride. All of the ladies in the bridal party went with different hairstyles that complimented each of them individually.

For Diana's makeup she opted not to use airbrush foundation, and instead chose a lightweight dewy foundation that was applied by hand with a kabuki brush. Diana had flawless skin to begin with and needed very little coverage from her foundation. For her eyes she wanted something cool and dramatic, so I used a charcoal grey base in her crease and added a deep plum over top. I lightened the inside of her eyes with metallic cream and applied a soft lavender to her brow bone. I finished off her eyes with dramatic liquid liner and false individual lashes. For her cheeks we went with a bronzer, and for her lips she chose a soft mauve/burgundy color to tie everything together.

For Meggen's wedding we traveled on location to a hotel in Capitol Hill where we prepared her and all the ladies in her bridal party for an afternoon wedding at Pravda Studios.

For Meggen's hair she wanted a style that was completely up and off of her neck, as well as away from her face. During her consultation and trial, Meggen expressed that she didn't want it to look as though she was wearing a bun, but instead wanted all the curls gathered and pinned in the back of her head. Her bridesmaids all chose different styles ranging from half up half down to headband braids and low messy side buns.

For Meggen's makeup she wanted something more than her everyday look, but nothing too dramatic. I began her makeup application with a light coat of airbrush foundation to give her skin a flawless appearance. For her eyes I used medium browns in her creases and soft gold's and champagne's in the middle and inner eye. To warm things up a bit I applied a light amount of a bright orange to give her eyes a warm glow. From there I added a thin liquid liner on top and a soft dusty powder liner on the bottom. Like most brides do, Meggen whet with false individual eye lashes to make here eyes POP. Lastly, we tied the look together with a beautiful mid tone fuscia from the spring/summer 2011 color palette.

Many of you have had the chance to meet Amber, and hopefully many of you will meet her in the future. Amber is one of OffWhite's extraordinary hairstylists and I was honored when she asked me to do her wedding day makeup.

Amber styled her own hair and chose to wear it two different ways. For the ceremony her hair was softly tousled and pinned loosely in the back. When it came time for the reception she let her hair down, and had a very romantic look with loose curls and lots of volume on top.

Amber chose a summery day time look for her makeup. She went with matte colors such as, camel brown, warm mauve, and white gold around the eyes, with a thin cat eyeliner and false lashes. For her cheeks we used a warm bronze and finished her look off with a light honey suckle lip stain.

Here is a sneak peak of Christina, one of my upcoming September brides. Back in April Christina came in for her trial, which took place on the same day as her engagement photos. She really wanted to see how her makeup would photograph on the day of her wedding, and by the looks of her photos she will be a stunning bride.

On January 8, 2011 I traveled on location to work with Grace, one of my most sweet and lovely brides to date. For her wedding day hair style we chose something loose and low on the neck. Grace had a strong liking for braids, so I managed to incorporate a few in to the hair style.

For her makeup, I did a light airbrush foundation and stuck with pale shades of pink, cream, and champagne. I finished her look off with some gorgeous false lashes, and a hint of raspberry on her lips.

Leanna Harter-Geer: Married July 26, 2010

For Leanna's wedding I traveled up to Bellingham where I met with her and her bridal party on location at the beautiful Lairmount Manor. The venue was gorgeous and it perfectly matched the vintage feel Leanna was going for.

During Leanna's consultation and trial we decided that her hair was the most important thing that she wanted to stand out. For her makeup she just wanted something summery and flawless with out any drama or deep color. I got things started with a primer and then applied a medium coverage coat of foundation. After that I colored her eyebrows back in and warmed up her cheeks with a light bronzer. For her eyes I stuck with a neutral palette of light browns, creams, and a bit of white gold and bronze. We used a deep brown for her top liner but did not apply any to the bottom. The look was finished off with individual eyelashes and a sheer pink gloss.

For her hair, Leanna wanted to go with a loose finger wave, circa 1940's. In order to achieve this style I set her in curls using small sections the rotated directions every other row. After setting for a few hours I brushed her hair out and applied Anti-Humectant by Aveda to keep everything from getting frizzy. I then went in with a thin comb and shaped sections of her hair into an s-form. I used a few pins to keep everything in place and then added the birdcage veil for the finishing touch.

Often times clients are under the impression that I am the only one running this show... that is so not the case though. The morning of Danielle's wedding Amber and I traveled on location to Hotel DECA in the University District. We were so excited to work with Danielle because not only is she absolutely gorgeous and sweet, but she was having a romantic winter wedding and it started snowing on our way there.

When I met with Daneille for her trial we discussed doing her hair half up half down with a loose vintage curl. One of the things that I liked most about her choice was that she wanted to wear it all back instead of using a part. The look suited her face well and complimented the timeless elegance vibe she was going for.

As for her makeup, we started with a primer and then applied airbrush foundation over it. Her skin was flawless to begin with so I used a light application and then set the foundation with an invisible blotting powder. From there I colored her eyebrows back in a bit and warmed her cheeks up a bit with a pale pike blush. I then moved onto her eyes by applying a neutral primer and then an all over off white matte color. We decided to use blues and brown on her to compliment the accent colors of her wedding. I choose a medium charcoal brown and matte navy for her crease and then a light beige for the middle of her eye. For her under eye area I went in with a small full brush and lightly applied a camel brown to the area right under her lower lashes. Then I used a navy pencil and lined the inner portion of her eye. The two colors against one another really madder her eyes begin to pop. For the top liner I used a combination of black and navy powder, then set it with a wet sealant. We finished things off of course with some false individual eyelashes and a matte long wear lipstick in a pale purple/pink shade.

That morning Amber and I also had the pleasure of working with Danielle's mother and two bridesmaids. All of the ladies were so enjoyable to meet and talk with and we are thrilled to see how it all turned out on camera.

Olecia Walker's Winter Wedding

For Olecia's wedding I traveled out on location to Vancouver B.C. fanned it was beautiful winter setting. Olecia knew she wanted something very natural and soft for both her wedding hair and makeup. She doesn't normally wear makeup and said that she hated the look and feel of over styled hair. To create a look that will stay and last through the night is a difficult task using very little product but in the end we managed to pull it off.

For her makeup we used a light weight tinted moisturizer to remove some of the redness and set it with a translucent powder. For her eyes we stayed simple, I laid a light primer down first and then a sheer cream color over top. For a little added pop I went into her creases with a matte mauve colored blush as to warm things up a bit. She already had stunning eyelashes so we skipped over the false ones and went strait to mascara. In the end she decided on a bit of lower powder liner but nothing on the top. For the lip she choose one of my most favorite products in the world, Burts Bee's Peony tinted chap-stick. When all else fails I have to resort to Burt's.

For Olecia's hair, she had said she wanted it to look like it was all curled and then someone came along and effortlessly picked up the hair and lightly pinned it. So wanting to please my client, that is exactly what I did. I started by curling and setting her whole head, then after an hour I let it all down. I sprayed just a small amount of Aveda air control into it and then grabbed all of her curls and lightly pinned them into one area on the nape of her neck. I then went through with a metal pick and pulled out a few pieces around her facial frame to add a more natural look and feel.

After looking at the photos and following up with Olecia, I was glad to hear that it turned out exactly how she envisioned. Please enjoy the photos below!

I travel out on location every year to over a hundred weddings, obviously though with the way my job works I never quite make it to the ceremony or reception. Fortunately that is all about to change this summer because just about every person I know has decided to get hitched in 2011. At the rate the invites keep arriving, I might end up needing to take the whole summer off.

In an effort to update my personal wedding attire, I thought what better way than with a new pair of Kate Spade sunnies and some Badgley Mischka shoes. Now I just have to hope that all of these wedding I will be attending are outside, sunny, and not on any grass :)

Side Note: Whether your going to a wedding or actually the one getting married, I believe every woman should wear a pair of Badgley Mischka shoes.

We are so excited to share the news that on February 1, 2011 OffWhite Makeup and Beauty opened its physical store location in Greenlake. Since first arriving on the bridal beauty scene, OffWhite has operated out of the home of it's owner, Megan Bingham. In an effort to keep cost down and uphold a personal small business feel, Megan choose to have clients meet for consultation and trial appointments at her chic mid-century apartment located in Queen Anne.

At the end of the 2010 bridal season though, her business was growing rapidly and the yearly "off season" was no where to be found. In order to accommodate all of her new clients and meet their increasing needs, Megan set out to find and create a space that would encompass her personal style and the style of her brides.

Gina Q's Wedding: March 19, 2011

Before Gina's wedding day we had previously worked together when she was a bridesmaid in another wedding. I was thrilled to get the call from her that now she was getting married and OffWhite was her first choice for hair and makeup.

On the actual day of her wedding, my assistant Amber and I traveled out on location to Sea-Tac for some pre-wedding day beauty with her and the bridal party. They ladies were all so lovely and Gina's venue, Landmark On The Sound provided a beautiful backdrop for all the festivities. Of course the photography by JennyGG may have also played a part in why it all turned out so wonderful.

The pictures probably don't do justice the amount of hair that Gina actually has, and so when she decided to wear it down for her wedding I thought it was an excellent idea. She went with a very loose curl and then small sections pinned back from around the face frame. For the sections that we choose to pin back, I took them and wove them into a loose french braid using 5 sections instead of 3. This technique gave a very sofa woven effect without the look of actual braiding.

For Ginas makeup we decided to play up the eyes but also use a full colored lip. I started with a pore minimizing primer and them sprayed airbrush foundation over top to give her skin a flawless light weight coverage. From there we colored her eyebrows back in and added a touch of terra-cotta blush for warmth. Moving on to her eyes, I first used a shadow magnet primer and then went back over it with a matte cream. I then went into her crease with a plum colored brown and medium bronze to give her eyes dimension. I added a soft taupe and light charcoal purple to the middle of the eye, and then finished it off by highlighting the insides. I applied a very thin black/brown liner to the top and bottom and then for a final magic touch, applied the false lashes to make everything pop. For Gina's lip color she choose a raspberry merlot shade called enchanting, which matched her skin tone beautifully and complimented her eyes.

December 4, 2010: A wedding and a trial

Early Saturday morning I traveled out to Salish Lodge to do the hair and airbrush makeup for Kasi's wedding. Salish lodge is such a great venue to have a winter wedding because of all the surroundings. One of the things that made it so amazing was the Room Kasi and her fiancé stayed in. The Grand Suite at Salish lodge literally overlooks the Snoqualmie Waterfall and has a beautiful view of the mountains. It also has great lighting, which made doing Kasi's hair and makeup so enjoyable.

For her makeup she wanted something that was more than she would ever do for herself, but at the same time she didn't want to not look like herself. To cover the redness on her cheeks we use a medium coverage airbrush foundation. Then we lightly colored her eyebrows back in and added a soft blue toned pink blush to the apple's of her cheeks. For her eyes we started with a primer, which helps hold the shadow and make colors appear brighter. After that we laid a matte cream over the entire eye as a base and then started to fill in the crease with a greenish gray and malt brown. To give her eyes that pop effect, I added a soft white and gold pigment to the inside area of her eye around the tear duct. We finished everything off by adding a soft smoky black liner to both the top and button lids and then applied her false individual lashes. Kasi had beautiful dark and full lashes to start with but adding about 10 individual lashes to each eye really added that final element of glamour.

For her hair she wanted a low messy side bun with a little bit of her bangs free flowing. When we met back in September for her trial, Kasi and I both agreed that is would be a good idea to purchase a few pieces of clip in hair to add some extra volume to the bun. In doing so it made a huge improvement to the over all hairstyle, one the Kasi was very happy with.

It was a please spending time with both Kasi and her fiancé Kevin while taking the time to enjoy the scenery of the mountains and the waterfall. I would like to wish them both Congratulations on their wedding and I hope they have a great honeymoon in San Francisco. I will post professional pictures when they become available.

Once I finished up with Kasi I headed strait home to meet for the second time with Loni, my New Years Eve 2010 bride. Loni had come to me 2 week earlier for a trial and while she was happy with how everything turned out at the trial, once she was able to get feedback from her friends and fiancé, she decided that she would like to go quite a few levels heavier. So on this Saturday Loni came to me with her bridesmaid Cassandra and we discussed all the changes she wanted.

Unlike most of my brides, Loni did not need airbrush foundation and sine her fiancé did not like the look of it, we choose to go without any foundation at all. For her eyes we laid down a primer to hold the shadow and the applied a buttery taupe color as her base. From there I went to town on her creases adding mahogany browns, grays, and even a matte black. Once Loni was happy with the darkness of everything I detailed the inner eye with gold’s, whites, and pinks. We struggled a bit trying to find the right colors to enhance her brow bone area but finally settled on a copper and bronze color that would highlight it nicely. For her lips we choose a beautiful burgundy wine color, which added a burst of color to her face. The last thing we had to do was perfect her eyeliner. Loni had shown me a photo of Miss Oprah and wanted me to create for her a vibrant black line that was the perfect in-between of thick and thin. To do so I used a product from Egypt known as coal. This powder is so black and rich than when applied wet, I truly feel there is nothing else out there that can top it. I rarely use it because of how opaque it is, but when I do it really stands out against all other products. In the end Loni was completely satisfied with the results of her second trial and we are both looking forward to her fast approaching wedding on December 31, 2010. Natalie Warner's wedding sneak peak: November 28, 2010

Today I traveled on location to Hotel Andra for Natalie's wedding. Her hair style and makeup turned out so amazing that I wanted to share with all of you a quick sneaks peak. Her influences were a cross between Hillary Duff's wedding photos, and the iconic Sarah Jessica Parker bun. Natalie had a ton of hair to work with so creating this style was not a problem at all. She recently visited Gary Manuel Salon for a root touchup and full foil, which helped create dimension to her look and boosted the intensity of her color. Visiting a salon one week prior to the wedding day is highly recommended because it really does add a vibrant glow to the overall look and hair style.

For her makeup she wanted something dramatic and flawless so we started with a pore minimizing primer and then gave her full coverage airbrush foundation. For her eyes we used a combination of steel brown, copper/bronze, and a matte black in her crease. I then went over the rest of her eye with a soft champagne and light metallic pink to make the inside pop. After that I dusted the inner and outer lid with a matte black liner, which helped add shape. Lastly I applied a nice row of false individual lashes and added a cold/blue toned pink to her lips.

On top of what I did for Natalie, I also had the chance to help get her mother ready. When asked what look she was going for she said, " I want glam, along with a bit of that 60's style volume". To achieve that I used lots of fall colors on both the eyes and lips, which doing so complimented her dress quit well. For her hair, I teased the crown of her head till it couldn't get any bigger, combed it over with my Mason Pearson, and then finally pinned back a few pieces around her face to show off her earrings.

I want to finish up this post by wishing Natalie and Curtis Congratulations on their wedding day. I am happy for them that the sun stuck around long enough to get a few good photos, and I hope they have a safe trip to Jamaica for their honeymoon. Haley Jo Dabell's wedding: October 23, 2010

For Haley's wedding I traveled out on location to Whidbey Island. Everything about her bridal hair and makeup was tailored to match the decor of her mid-fall ceremony, which took place in an apple orchard owned by her family. I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the ceremony and it really was the most beautiful wedding I have had the chance to be a part of. Haley is not the typical bride that chose to wear a long white wedding gown or spends many months fussing over place cards and table settings. That is because her wedding ceremony and reception were strait out of the pages of an Anthropology Catalog. When I first arrived Haley told me that I should take a look around and enjoy some fresh squeezed apple cider, which she had pressed herself that morning. Every single detail down to the mason jars for drinking, picnic tables with mismatched vintage table cloths, and jars of homemade jam as favors for the guests, they were all pulled together in a shabby chic fashion that matched Haley's sweet, down-to-earth personality. The most important detail to her on her wedding day was that everyone wear warm boots and make sure to sign up for flag football immediately following the ceremony. She was the first of eight children the get married and watching both her mother and father walk Haley down the isle brought tears of joy to my eyes!

For her makeup we used a very light airbrush foundation and a soft rose blush on her cheeks. Haley does not wear much makeup on a regular basis so she wanted to keep things as natural as possible. She wanted her eyes to look bright and warm so we used a medium chestnut brown in her creases and a light pink and metallic cream on the lid. We nicely shaped them with a dusty gray/brown liner, then finished off her look with a neutral beige pink lipstick.

For Haley's hairstyle, she chose to wear it up so that it would not detract from the detail of her dress. After playing around with a few different styles at her trial, we finally settled on a high bun. This style worked very well for Haley's face shape and it also gave her the ability to use an accessory that was dear to her heart. Instead of a traditional veil, Haley asked me to fasten in a hand beaded applique that both her mother and grandmother had worn for their weddings. The way she chose to wear the hair piece was very different from how the woman before her had worn it, and when it was all said and done the entire look turned out exactly how she had envisioned it.

Mona S Wedding

For Mona's wedding day, we met on location in West Seattle and spent about 1 hour doing her makeup. We used a full coverage airbrush foundation, soft metallic browns, and matte greasy in her crease, and a thin liquid eyeliner that kicked out a bit at the ends. Mona choose a beautiful raspberry pink color for her lip and finished everything off with a set MAC false eyelashes. Even though Mona was one of my 2009 brides, she recently followed up with me to share photos. One of the best parts of my job is being able to look back and see how it all turned out on camera. I never get tired of viewing the final results and sharing it with everyone else... enjoy!

Lindsey Davis Married August 8, 2010

When I first met Lindsey, I really appreciated how easy going she was. The ideas she had for her wedding makeup and hair were simple, and since she is not a person that ever wears makeup, the vision of what things would look like on the big day were up to me. We met for her hair and makeup trial on the day of her engagement photos and played around with some simple, light airbrush foundation. We added just a few other enhancements on the eyes such as an all over cream colored base and a touch of bronze in her crease. I finished off her look with a little pale pink gloss and a soft rose colored blush. We lightly curled her hair and then she was off the engagement session. Lindsey later contacted me to let me know that for the actual wedding day she had decided she would like her hair to be worn up in a simple knot. With that said, on the morning of Lindsey's wedding, myself and my assistant Amber met Lindsey and her bridal at the Pickering Barn in Issaquah Washington for a few short hours of bridal beauty festivities. I have had the opportunity to work with Shari on other brides weddings and what I love most about her works is her ability to capture intimate and emotional moments that really tell a couples love story. The Seattle Wedding Show Magazine Has Arrived!

The 2011 Seattle Wedding Show Magazine has finally hit news stand, and if you have a look on page 93 you will find Off White Makeup and Beauty. The 2011 Wedding Show will take place this year, January 8th and 9th. If you would like to buy tickets to the event, you visit the Seattle Wedding Show website and purchase the tickets online in advance. I highly recommend doing this because every year there is a very long line of people waiting to get tickets. Another good reason to purchase them in advance is because you will receive all sorts of goodies when you go to pick your tickets up. This year, the show is approximated to bring in roughly 9,000 brides over the two days, and it will showcase over 450 wedding vendors for all over the pacific northwest. Even if you're not a bride but plan to be one day, this is a fun and exciting event that should not be missed out on. Jenna Johnson's Wedding September 9, 2010

For a makeup artist and bridal hair stylist like myself, Jenna is the ideal type of client to have. She is gorgeous with or with out makeup, her hair is very agreeable, and Jenna is one of the nicest and calmest brides I have ever had. For her wedding day hair style, Jenna wanted to wear it up and off her shoulder. She envisioned some sort of bun in the back that was not to structured but also not to messy. Her biggest requirement was that she wanted everything to look soft and textured. We created an up-do that had nice volume at the crown and in order to keep things soft around her face we left out a few small section. We used lot's of texture on the sides of her up-do and then pinned her bangs back in a way that replicated a vintage 1940's look. For her makeup we used a very light airbrush foundation and peach/apricot blush tones. For her eyes, Jenna selected a steel brown color for her crease and mid-tone pinks and champagnes for the rest of her eye. To finish everything off we chooses a nude pink semi-gloss with blue undertones. Everything about Jenna's makeup and hair complimented her wedding style and influences. Chelsey Eaton Married September 19, 2010

Chelsey was married on a rainy Sunday morning in Seattle to Dan, the love of her life. When Chelsey contacted me to do the makeup for her wedding, I had no idea until when we finally met for her trial that she was someone I went to high school with. It was a pleasure to touch base with her about life, 9 years after graduating, and to find out about all the things she has been doing. For her base we used a pore minimizing primer and airbrush foundation. Then we pulled together an eye palette of colors that complimented the new fall colors. We went with greenish grays and mahogany brown in her crease, soft taupes and a bright bronze in the middle of the eye, and a beautiful bone cream color on the inside of her eye to open things up. For Chelsey's lips I mixed 2 colors, the first was a metallic lilac long wear gloss and the second was a bright purply pink gloss with a blue undertone. Chelsey already had grayish blue eyes and the purpose of the colors I choose for her was to brighten the blues and recede the gray. Allison was my first bride of 2010 and due to the fact that I have been swamped all year, I am just now getting around to blogging her wedding. Allison came to me by referral from an amazing hairstylist named Jen Logan. Allison was married at the Blue Ribbon Cooking School on Eastlake and for a January day in Seattle, she couldn't have gotten better weather. Allison wanted to go for a soft eye and medium nude lip. She had a previous eye irritant, which we were able to cover with airbrush foundation and overall, Allison looked flawless. Upon following up with her, this is what she had to say; "My wedding was wonderful! Thank you so much for doing my makeup. I had a lot of compliments and felt beautiful all day….and you were able to cover up my nasty eye complex, which was a feet in itself". Katrina was one of my many this summer that choose to get married on a weekday and for her wedding my assistant Michelle and I traveled out Goldbar for all the pre-wedding festivities. The venue was Willows Lodge, which is a beautiful log cabin that sits on about 5 acres of intricately landscaped gardens. The day was sunny, the ladies were great to work with, and most of all the bride was in really good spirits. Katrina went for a half up half down and curly hair style. For her makeup she used airbrush foundation, deep browns and grays in the crease, and light pinks on the inner eye. Since it was a summer wedding she chooses a brighter pink lip for a pop of color. Everything about Katrina's overall look compliment the color of her bridesmaids dresses, flowers, and accessories. I followed up with Katrina a few weeks after the wedding and this is what she had to say; "Everything turned out wonderful. I felt gorgeous all day thanks to you. Jessica was married on Friday, July 23, 20102011, and it was an absolutely gorgeous day for a wedding. My assistant Christiana and I arrived at the Pan Pacific Hotel mid morning and spent about 3 hours getting Jessica and her bridal party ready. In early May we did a trial run and were able to achieve a beautiful asymmetrical low messy bun that was inspired by photos of Evangeline Lilly at the Oscars. For her makeup she went with light matte taupes, light pinks, and a medium bronze in her crease. We used a pore minimizing primer and airbrush foundation, which brought out a soft glow and made her skin appear flawless. After following up with Jessica she had this to say; "Everything went perfect on our wedding day! The makeup lasted all day which was really good because it was so hot in our reception area". Everyone, say hello to Sara, she is going to be the new face of my 2011 advertising campaign. I had the opportunity last July to do her wedding makeup, along with the other 7 ladies in her bridal party. Sara wasn't my typical client in that she was not going for a natural face on the day of her wedding. Sara wanted dramatic, and in order to give her what she wanted we did two different trial. Her reception was held at the Renton Community Canter and all the photography was provided by the wonderfully talented, absolutely amazing, super sweet Jenny GG. June 12th was such a beautiful day for a wedding and what a better place than Hotel 1000, which is where Dawn had both her ceremony and reception. I was referred toDawn by a past bride named Danelle and I can honestly say it was such a pleasuring working with both ladies.

Below are the before and afters of Dawns brides maids, along with her mother, and a few of her professional photos. Her dress is from the fabulous I Do Bridal on 45th and her photographer is Sean Flanigan. He does such an amazing job creating soft colors while highlight the bride.
