  • Why do you need a professional makeup artist/ hair stylist on the day of your wedding?

You will be photographed and possibly video taped for approximately 8–10 hours. Your hair and makeup will need to last and look polished all day and maybe into the evening. A professional artist can create a look that lasts, yet is natural to the eye.

Photography makeup is very different from everyday makeup. It uses shadows and highlights to bring out your best features and provide subtle camouflage. You must be more matte for video and photography. Shine translates as oil or perspiration and brides need to look fresh and calm at all times.

Your wedding is only one day; pictures will last a lifetime. You want to look back at those photos and see yourself at your very best.

  • Will you need touchups?

Mostly likely yes, depending on which products are used. Sheer glossy lips wear off quickly. Skin produces more oil under stress so you will probably need to use a translucent powder. Your artist can show you how to touch up and provide you with the right products. Your dress will be the main focus for the day, so your hairstyle should complement the lines of the dress. A hairstyle is a little work of art that can be designed to carry on the mood of the dress. It also needs to last several hours and look perfect from all angles. If you have ever struggled with a bad hair day, you will realize the need for a professional hair stylist.

You need to be calm and confident. Sitting still and letting a professional work their magic will put you at ease. You will be still for about an hour and emerge looking like a bride; with the confidence of knowing your look is just perfect.

  • How long does everything usually take?

The consultation is the first meeting and usually goes about 30-45 minutes. When we meet for the trial we are covering a lot more stuff . A trial can take any where from 1 hour to 2 hours. On the day of the wedding since we have had a chance to practice thing it usually takes a firm hour and a half for the bride. It is a rule of thumb for the bridal pary that each person take about 30 minutes for hair and 30 minutes for makeup. We confirm all these details during the consultation and again during the trial.
